Cormack Stakes - G5 - 9f - D - 2yo WIN Rise Me Gold PLACE Hurricane SHOW Royal Charm 4th Key West 5th Nutcracker Suite
Today was Rise Me Gold's day. She held on by sheer will today. Hurricane was spot on. Royal Charm and Key West were in for it and Nutcracker Suite had the burden of trying to stay in the game with the dueling mid-pack leaders. Royal Charm was able to use her variability to hold out on Key West, but it looks like this colt is on a turnaround. Isa I know you have to be a little frustrated with Nutcracker, but what this horse needs is confidence boosters. Small three horse fields to offset those lower placings and build him up.

Frozen Motion Handicap WIN Fire It Up PLACE Altercation show Wild Daisy
Holy it was like Breeder's Stakes duke out between the top two again, but this time Fire It Up said not today to Altercation and managed to poke his body in front of the other colt. Fire It Up really likes this distance (and I feel biased since I judged them literally a week ago...) whereas Altercation really prefers the longer distances. Wild Daisy will only go up from here!

I realize that Cav but there aren't any. It's take big fields or not race. Last place is fine, I expected it, I just rather would have a season of racing than sitting on the sidelines. We have a lot of extra competition this year.

Finbar Stakes - G5 - 9f - T - 2yo Win. Laddie Luck Place. Mr. Wild Show. Moonstorm Fourth. PartyAtTheDisco DQ: Wild Havoc (G4, almost G3)
Moonstorm: I really like her and think she deserves better than a 3rd, but the top two colts are really nice. I think she'll round out well by her three year old season. Looking at her sire's pedigree and Terror Smile's record... It is quite possible that she could run from 6-11 if a two furlong extension was given. Somehow Canjun Moon was a sprinter, but Dancing In The Moonlight and Requiem have produced brilliant distance runners.
PartyAtTheDisco: I like her, but the top three are more experienced in the top competition right now whereas 4 of her 6 starts came in maiden races.
